Hypocrisy is the Norm in Washington DC

The Trump Administration and the Republican Party are the absolute definition of unbounded hypocrisy.  For the better part of two decades the Republican Party made the theme of the Clinton's belief they were above the law the centerpiece of their malicious and unrelenting smear campaign.  Now that Donald Trump is President and literally thumbing his nose at the law, shredding the Constitution and making a mockery of ethics in government, these same indignant Clinton haters stand shamelessly silent as their chosen leader drags the country from one mud hole to the next.

That is not to say the Democrats don't have their share of hypocrites as well. It seems to be the nature of the world's largest septic tank we call Washington DC. It is disgusting and a joke we call this the greatest nation on earth. In keeping with the Trump mantra, if you tell yourself a lie enough times, it will become your reality. It is a little like walking into a garage and saying "Wow, I'm in a garage. Garages are for cars. I am in a garage so therefore, I must be a car." You are in fact in a garage but you are not in fact a car. You may be dumb enough to believe you are but just because you believe it doesn't make it so.

One thing is for sure, there is a double standard  that cannot be denied. The standards the Clinton's were held to and the standards Republicans hold Trump to and subscribe to themselves are polar opposites.

Republicans have become a mindless, malicious party that is destructive and unworthy of respect. I have watched over this last year and seen people who I considered good friends and respected follow Trump like a Pied Piper. I am extremely disappointed in them and have concluded that while we may have had a relationship in the past, we certainly do not share the same values.   Trump has profoundly changed America and negatively impacted the daily lives of common people.  This is not just a difference of opinion or philosophy, it is a question of what values you hold and how you view right and wrong.  If you believe Donald Trump is right and agree with what he is doing and how he conducts himself, then we are fundamentally different. You are free to continue down that path but I choose a different one.
